1. Our Commitment
Story Tavern and The Ciderworks are committed to making our website and venue accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We work to meet or exceed the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the California Unruh Civil Rights Act.
2. What We've Done
- Semantic HTML and ARIA landmarks throughout the site
- Full keyboard navigation for every interactive element
- Visible focus states on every button, link, and form field
- Color contrast tested to WCAG AA (4.5:1 body text, 3:1 large text and UI)
- Alt text on meaningful images; decorative images marked as such
- Forms with proper labels and clear error messaging
- Reduced-motion support — animations are disabled automatically for visitors with "reduce motion" enabled in their OS
- Mobile touch targets meet the 44×44px minimum standard
- Screen reader testing on VoiceOver (iOS, macOS) and NVDA (Windows)
3. Physical Venue
Our venue at 150 S San Fernando Blvd is accessible by step-free entry. Restrooms are ADA-compliant. Service animals are welcome. If you need assistance during your visit, our team is trained to help — just ask.
4. Ongoing Effort
Accessibility is not a checkbox — it's something we work on continuously. We test the site after every meaningful change and welcome feedback from anyone who encounters a barrier.
